Winter Wonderland Walk

Harrison Rail Trails and the North Bend Rails-to-Trails Foundation are partnering to take our "Winter Wonderland Walk" on the road to West Union on the North Bend Rail-Trail!

West Union is a wonderfully quaint town off Route 50 and offers such a rich history of our Railroad and now our Rail-Trails!

We will be walking west through Tunnel #6 toward Central Station and will meet at the West Union trailhead at 1pm, which is mile marker 51.
There are picnic tables at mile markers 50, 49 and 48 where we can rest as needed.

As always, the walkers determine the length of the walk. At present, we are averaging 3-4 miles round trip. We walk at our own pace and will take breaks as needed. Our walks are kid and dog friendly!

We do suggest wearing comfortable boots that you do not mind getting a bit dirty, as the snow is melting the trails can be a bit damp in spots. Please watch for weather reports for temperatures to assure proper dress.

Exit Rt. 50 onto Rt. 18 north at West Union.
In about 1/10 of a mile there is a sign pointing right to the trail, do not turn there for parking.
Keep going straight under the trail bridge to a 3 way stop.
There is another trail sign pointing left (gas station is on the left). Turn left.
As you go up the hill, there is another sign pointing left where the trail crosses the road, keep left and go through town.
Where the road starts going downhill (2 blocks) turn left into the parking lot.
You will cross the trail there and see a map board.
West Union has 2 parking areas and we can help you to find parking as needed.
